Secrest Wardle Welcomes Partner Diego J. Rojas to Grand Rapids location

Troy, MI - Diego J. Rojas joins Secrest Wardle as a Partner in the Firm’s Grand Rapids office. Mr. Rojas is a member of the Firm’s Environmental and Toxic Tort, General Negligence, Insurance Coverage, Malpractice/Professional Liability, Motor Vehicle Litigation, Premises Liability, Products Liability, and Property, Fire and Casualty Practice Groups. Prior to joining Secrest Wardle, Mr. Rojas practiced in Grand Rapids in the area of insurance defense. Prior to practicing in Michigan, Mr. Rojas worked at a prominent firm in the Washington, D.C. area where he represented clients in serious personal injury claims, criminal and motor vehicle matters, family law, and complex commercial litigation claims. Mr. Rojas received his Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University, Columbus School of Law in 2004. Upon graduation, he was a law clerk for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and in the Circuit Court of Montgomery County, Maryland. Also after law school, Mr. Rojas worked as a Legal Research Attorney with the San Francisco Superior Court.

Diego Rojas is a past President of the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association and a longtime Board Member and former Chair of the Association’s Judicial Nominating Selections Committee. Mr. Rojas is a former Fellow of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Leadership Academy and for many years participated on its Membership Committee. Mr. Rojas was formerly a member of the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorney’s Association and Maryland Association for Justice (formerly Maryland Trial Lawyers Association).

Mr. Rojas has been named to the lists of “Rising Stars” (2012-2013) and “Super Lawyers” (2014 and 2015) by Maryland Super Lawyers Magazine. Additionally, Mr. Rojas was named to the lists of “Rising Stars” (2013) and “Super Lawyers” (2014) by the Washington D.C. Super Lawyers Magazine. He is fully bi-lingual as a native Spanish speaker. He is a member of the Michigan State Bar Association and Grand Rapids Bar Association. He is licensed in D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Michigan, and U.S. District Court (Maryland).
