Seven Detroit Country Day School seniors are candidates for the United States Presidential Scholars Program
Each student has achieved the Presidential Scholars standard for a perfect score in either the ACT or SAT assessments.

Seven Detroit Country Day School seniors have been identified as candidates for the prestigious United States Presidential Scholars Program. DCDS Headmaster Glen Shilling made the announcement.
“At the heart of Detroit Country Day School’s philosophy is a focus on academic proficiency and providing a well-rounded educational experience for all our students,” said Shilling. “We are delighted at the exemplary scholarship demonstrated by these seven students and are proud of their exceptional scores on these difficult national exams. The pool of academic talent at Detroit Country Day School is deep and reflects our commitment to academic excellence.”
Established in 1964, the United States Presidential Scholars Program annually recognizes and honors up to 141 of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated significant academic success, leadership, and service to school and community. One component of the student’s academic success is to obtain a perfect score on the ACT or a combined perfect score on the math and critical reading section of the SAT. According to recent statistics, only .04 percent of the more than 1.6 million students who take the ACT each year earn a perfect score, and just .03 percent of the more than two million students who take the SAT each year achieve a perfect score.
