Smash-and-Grab Robbery Reported at Troy Jewelry Store

Police said a man used a hammer to shatter a display case and grab four to five watches valued at more than $100,000.

Troy, MI – Investigators are seeking two suspects following a report of a smash-and-grab robbery at an Omega jewelry store at the Somerset Collection in Troy.

The Oakland Press reported that police were called to the local shopping mall at 6:31 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21.

Employees told them as many as five watches had been stolen from the store.

The managers said two men walked into the store and when they were asked if they needed, help, they said, “No,” and walked behind a display case.

One of the men allegedly used a small sledge hammer to shatter the display case and grab four to five watches valued at more than $100,000.

Both of the suspects then ran from the store.

Witnesses described the man with the hammer as about 5-foot-8 and weighing 175 pounds, while the other suspect was described as being 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds.
