Suspect Assaults Gas Station Clerk In Troy, Drives Away: Police

The clerk also said another passenger in the car pointed a black handgun at his face, police said.

TROY, MI — A person punched a Troy gas station employee in the face last Wednesday afternoon after being confronted by the clerk for stealing items from the store, Troy Police said.

Officers said the employee was punched in the face after reaching into a car the suspect was sitting in, trying to retrieve the stolen items at the BP Gas Station located at 2989 Crooks Rd.

The clerk also said another passenger in the car pointed a black handgun at his face, police said. The employee then backed away from the car and the suspects drove off.

Police could not determine why the clerk waited 20 minutes to call police or why he didn't originally state one of the passengers in the car pointed a gun at him, officials said.
