Thieves Target Navigation Systems In Troy Break-Ins

Several vehicles in Troy were recently broken into and had navigation systems stolen from them.

TROY, MI — Sport equipment, cash, Ray-Ban Sunglasses and navigational systems were among items recently stolen from a half-dozen cars in Troy. According to police reports, the thefts occurred between July 5-7. Here’s a rundown of the incidents from the Troy Police Department:

  • 2000 block of Dashwood Street, 7/5/2017 – 7/6/2017, 10:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Victim discovered unknown suspect(s) removed the license plate tabs from his State of Michigan License Plate that is attached to his blue 2006 Dodge Durango.
  • 2000 block of Timberwyck Trail, 7/6/2016 – 7/7/2017, 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM: Victim reports unknown suspect(s) entered his gray 2016 Chevrolet Equinox and ransacked-it, stealing his worth softball bag containing his baseball bat and equipment and his golf bag which contained his Taylor Golf Clubs, a Jack Nicklaus 3 Wood Golf Club, and an Odyssey Golf Putter, all kept inside the vehicle. Victim is unsure if he locked the vehicle as there were no signs of forced entry.

  • 2000 block of Amberly Lane, 7/6/2016 – 7/7/2017, 9:00 PM – 7:40 AM: Victim reports unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked black 1997 Chevrolet Blazer and ransacked-it, stealing his wallet which contained approximately $60 in currency and his State of Michigan Operator’s License. 4000 block of Ravenwood Court, 7/6/2016 – 7/7/2017, 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM: Victim reports unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked 2014 Audi A4 and ransacked-it, stealing her Ray-Ban Sunglasses, two pair of Levi Jean Shorts, $10 in miscellaneous currency, and a Aritzia Handbag.
  • Homewood Suites Parking Lot, 1495 W. Equity Drive, 7/6/2017 – 7/7/2017, 9:00 PM – 8:59 AM: Complainant discovered unknown suspect(s) broke-out the driver’s side rear window to his red 2017 Chrysler 300 C Rental Vehicle to steal the In-dash Navigational System while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot.
  • Town Place Suites Parking Lot, 325 Stephenson Highway, 7/7/2017, 12:00 Midnight - 9:30 AM: Victim discovered unknown suspect(s) broke-out the driver’s side rear window to his blue 2016 Dodge Charger to steal the In-dash Navigational System and his white Cartier Buffalo Glasses while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot.
