Traffic Alert: Getting Around Road Projects in Metro Detroit

METRO DETROIT, MI — If you’re out and about this weekend, keep these Michigan Department of Transportation road projects in mind as you make your way around Metro Detroit.

Interstate 696

Macomb County

• The west I-696 ramp to M-3 (Gratiot) will be closed for a lighting project from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Interstate 75

Oakland County

• South I-75 ramp to east I-696 will be closed for utility work from 6 a.m. to noon Saturday.
• North / south I-75 from Coolidge to Big Beaver will have one lane open 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Sunday.
• North I-75 from Giddings to Clintonville will have one lane open nightly 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday through Sunday.

Wayne County

West I-96 from M-39 to Outer Drive, right express lane closed and left local lane closed for lighting work from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Interstate 94

Wayne County

• East / west I-94 from I-96 to M-10, one lane open 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday for road work.
• West I-94 from US-24 to Wayne Road, one lane open from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for paving.
• East / west I-94 from I-75 to Chene, left lane closed for lighting from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

M-3: (Gratiot Avenue)

Macomb County

• M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) between I-696 to Remick Drive, two lanes closed nightly Monday through Friday 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

M-39

Wayne County

• North M-39 from Outer Drive to M-153 (Ford Road), one lane open 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement repairs.

M-8

Wayne County

• West M-8 ramp to I-75, ramp closed for lighting from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

M-59

Oakland County

• East / west M-59 (Highland) from Sunny Beach Drive to Sloane Court, full closure for 15-minute period between 7-10 a.m. Saturday for utility work

Macomb County

• Mound Road at M-59, two lanes closed, 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

M-85 (Fort Street)

Wayne County

• North / south M-85 (Fort Street bridge) between Oakwood and Miller, bridge closed 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday for bridge work.
• North / south M-85 (Fort Street) between Washington Boulevard and Griswold Street, road closed 6 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Also Shelby Street between Michigan and Fort and Lafayette between Griswold and Washington.

Also, Interstate 275 north is closed from Interstate 96 / M14 to Interstate 696 / M5 through September.
