Trick-or-Treat 'Under The Sea' At Troy Historic Village

The Troy Historic Village is encouraging all trick-or-treaters to wear their Halloween costumes as they collect candy under the Village Sea.

TROY, MI — Families will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat with the fishes all over the Village Green on Friday, Oct. 29 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 30 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Troy Historic Village is encouraging all trick-or-treaters to wear their Halloween costumes as they collect candy, trinkets and other allergy-friendly treats from Teal Pumpkin stations under the Village sea.

"We like to make our Trick-or-Treat events fun and family-friendly – not scary," Village Youth Programs Director Alex Konieczny said. "In the past we have gone to the circus, outer space, even fairy tale land. This is our first time going under the sea, so we are very excited."

Guests will begin their deep sea adventure by walking through the mouth of a giant shark. Once inside, families will enjoy ocean-themed games and activities, like jellyfish races and puffer fish bowling.

Children are also invited to make a pirate craft to take home and they can design their own funky feltboard fish. There will be plenty of photo ops, too, with seaworthy selfie-stations and chances to meet a mermaid or a friendly sea witch at certain times during the event.

The event will be held rain or shine, and the Village is all requiring staff, volunteers and guests to wear facemasks.

"Similar to last year’s Halloween program, we’re offering timed entry and holding the event on multiple dates to make sure there’s plenty of space between groups," Village Executive Director Jen Peters said. "We’ll also continue requiring staff, volunteers, and guests to wear facemasks. Last year taught us that we can still hold a really fun community event like Trick-or-Treat in a way that is safe."

The Village will offer onsite parking, as well as free overflow parking at Brookfield Academy. Guests who purchase a ticket prior to Thursday, Oct. 28 will receive a discount. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.troyhistoricvillage.org/programs/trick-or-treat-under-the-sea/.

Advance price is $5 for Troy Historical Society Members and $7 for Non-Members. Tickets will also be available at the door on a first-come, first-served basis ($7 for Troy Historical Society Members and $9 for Non-Members). All children under 2 are admitted free.
