Troy and Troy Athens Athletes Nominated for Detroit Free Press Sports Awards

The Detroit Free Press has announced their nominees for their high school sports awards program (presented by Detroit Area Honda Dealers). This annual program recognizes exemplary athletes and students from all over Michigan. This year’s nominees from the Troy School District are:

Boys Tennis: Brennan Cimpeanu (Troy), Gabe Brown (Troy Athens)

Boys Soccer: Rafael Khoury (Troy), Jason Kemp (Troy Athens), Andri Myftari (Troy Athens)

Boy’s Athlete of the Year: Jason Kemp (Troy Athens)

I Am Sport Award: Charlotte Sobotka (Troy), Sam Morris (Troy Athens)

Girls Special Olympics Athlete of the Year: Kendall Weinberg (Troy Athens)

Athletes of the Week: Athena Samson (Troy), Bryce Eaton (Troy Athens)
