Troy Chamber Hosts "How to Bridge the Generation Gap in the Workplace"

Troy Chamber to host a lunch-and-learn workshop on how to bridge the generation gap in the workplace.

April 29, 2016TROY, MI —It’s no secret that today’s workplace is complex. For the first time in history, companies have to manage the challenges of four generations with significant age differences—sometimes as much as 30 or 40 years— under one roof. So what makes younger workers so different from older ones?

On Wednesday, May 18 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., the Troy Chamber of Commerce will host a lunch-and-learn workshop for businesses on bridging the generation gap in the workplace. The event will take place at the Troy School District Services Center (4420 Livernois Rd., Troy) and features an interactive presentation by Grace Design and Consulting, a women-owned business that provides expertise in instructional design, online learning, web design, and marketing.

Attendees will explore innovative ideas that can be used to develop a beneficial common ground between various generations in the workplace including: adaptive communication styles, tailoring recruitment and retention, and techniques that will foster good working relationships with different generations.
