Troy High School Receives Grant/Support For Automotive Technical Training Programs

Troy High School recently received a grant for new equipment for their Automotive Technology Lab from supplier ZF North America, a global leader in chassis and driveline technology. The grant for $3,000 will be used on welding equipment and supplies for Troy High’s automotive STEM programs, to encourage future growth in science technology engineering and math.

“ZF North America is excited to partner with and provide this grant to Troy High School, to help develop new programs and advance the STEM goals of THS,” said Daniel Wellman of American Welding Society, Detroit Section. “We are grateful and pleased to encourage this public/private partnership in order to enhance our CTE (Career & Technical Education) programs,” said Troy High Principal Remo Roncone.

“Programs like ours enable students to walk into good, high-paying jobs after graduation, get further training at a community college, or head into a four-year university armed with marketable hands-on skills and education,” concluded Troy High teacher and NATEF Certified Automotive Instructor Dustin Warner. Troy High’s Auto Technology Lab received a state-of-the-art facelift earlier this year, with the help of local suppliers and industry partners.
