Troy High School Student Selected for 2018 Senate Youth Program

Troy High School Senior Quinn Favret has been chosen as a delegate for the prestigious 2018 U.S. Senate Youth Program

Troy High School Senior Quinn Favret has been chosen as a delegate for the prestigious 2018 U.S. Senate Youth Program. Favret was selected as one of only two students across the state to represent Michigan during an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. March 3 – 10, 2018. He will also receive a $10,000 scholarship.

During this week, Favret will join two high school juniors or seniors from each of the 50 states, and will experience our national government in action. Student delegates will hear major policy addresses by senators, cabinet members, officials from the Departments of State and Defense and directors of other federal agencies, as well as participate in meetings with the president and a justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
The United States Senate Youth Program brings the highest-level officials from each branch of government together with an outstanding group of high school students. Established in 1962 by U.S. Senate Resolution, the USSYP is a unique educational experience for outstanding high school students interested in pursuing careers in public service.
