Troy Man Nabbed in Cigarettes Theft, Then Charged for Armed Robbery
Anton Djonaj, 26, told a cashier that he carried a gun into the Royal Oak store on Sunday morning, according to police.

A Troy man faces a charge of armed robbery after his arrest in connection to a theft at CVS in Royal Oak.
Anton Djonaj, 26, was arraigned Monday while his alleged accomplice in the Sunday morning incident, an unknown woman, is still free. Royal Oak police said that Djonaj told a cashier at CVS (209 E. 12 Mile Rd., Royal Oak) that he was carrying a gun and stole cartons of cigarettes behind the counter before fleeing in a car.
Using the license plate number as a description, Troy police found the car, a gray Ford Taurus, registered at a house on Basswood in Troy. Djonaj was inside and was arrested without incident later Sunday morning.

Djonaj was charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of second-degree retail fraud.
Police said that during the robbery, Djonaj's accomplice distracted the cashier as he stole the cigarettes. During the robbery, she was wearing a black jacket with fur around the hood, a long red shirt, blue jeans, and red boots.

She is described as 5-feet, 4-inches to 5-feet, 6-inches tall, medium build, approximately 140 pounds, with a dark complexion and black, shoulder-length hair, in her 20s.
