Troy Player Gets Ready for Spartans' New Season
Kevin Muma will be on the field when Michigan State opens its 2012 season tonight against Boise State.

When the Spartan football team gathers on their sideline for the season-opening kickoff in tonight's game against Boise State, you'll want to look for a local gridiron hero.
Whether you are in the stands or watching on TV, keep an eye out for #17. That's Kevin Muma, the 6'-0" junior starting kickoff specialist from Troy High School. Muma, the son of Bruce and Lisa Muma, is a fourth-year player having red-shirted his freshman season.
Muma, a two-year letter winner, averaged 65.1 yards on kickoffs last season (ranked 33rd nationally) and had 17 touchbacks (20th), according to the MSU media guide.
