Troy Police Arrested An Agitated Woman Twice

Police said they responded to a market on a report of an upset woman over a song that was playing in the store.

TROY, MI — An agitated woman was recently arrested by Troy Police for obstructing a police officer after accusing them of lying about an incident that took place at the Paradise Fruit Market on East Big Beaver Road.

Police said they responded to the market on Sept. 27 at 12:33 p.m. on a report of customer trouble.

However, the woman called police and told them she moved her suv to Parliament Drive, West of Pall Mall Drive in the Sterling Heights, officials said.

When officers approached her, she explained that an overhead song playing in the market upset her. She said the song made her sad and asked employees to stop playing it. However, once employees told her they couldn't stop the song from playing, she got upset and starting yelling, prompting the market to call police, authorities said.

As the woman was telling her story to police, she began to get upset with the officers and accused them of lying. She then made a u-turn and drove around a police car positioned to stopped her. A second police car emerged to box her in, police said.

The agitated 45-year-old woman was arrested for hinder and obstruction of a police officer and transported to the Troy Police lock-up facility, where she was processed and released, officials said.

However, she then walked into the police department and began yelling at the front desk attendant, officials said.

After repeated attempts to calm her down, she was then arrested again for disorderly conduct, authorities said.
