Troy Police Got Coveted 5-Star Review: Here’s Why

TROY, MI — A Troy family gave a shout-out to the Troy Police Department for its support of fundraising events that have helped them get their now 7-year-old son to and from Philadelphia, where he has undergone a series of surgeries since he was 2.

In his five-star review of the police department, Adam West said police officers are often portrayed negatively despite their deep commitments to neighborhoods.

“In this current climate that seems to put a negative light on law enforcement officers, I think it is important that we remember these moments,” West said of the Troy police officers’ support for his son. “They were selfless to support a citizen of their neighborhood that was in need. Not by protecting him from a crime, but by supporting his journey that he is on.”

In a comment, Jeffrey Hillier also complimented the police department and said the support for the West family is why Troy has one of the top police departments in the country.

“They go way beyond what is expected when it comes to community policing,” Hillier wrote. “Just know, the community of Troy appreciates everything you do, from Coffee With a Cop to the Open Houses and Police Dog demonstrations! Thank You!”
