Troy Police Investigating Suspicious Assault Incident
The suspect put on a black ski mask and chased a woman as she was taking out her trash, police said.

TROY, MI — Police in Troy have released a composite drawing of a suspect in a reported assault earlier this month on a woman who was taking out her trash.
The woman said that she was approached and chased at her apartment on the 2000 block of Crooks Road about 10 p.m. on Sept. 18, the Troy Police Department said in a news release. The woman told police she noticed the suspect, a stranger, as she left her apartment with the trash, and said he had some sort of object in her hand.
As she approached the trash receptacle, the suspect followed her and then put on a black ski mask and began chasing her, according to the news release. When the suspect caught up with her, he said, “Shhh, don’t say anything,” according to the news release.

The woman screamed, and the suspect fled, police said.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches and heavy set, with straight light brown short hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a black/gray sweatshirt and khaki shorts.
