Troy Police to Hold Citizens Academy Tuesday
The session will be the first in a seven-week series.

Have you ever wondered what a typical work day is like for a member of the police force? What about for an officer right here in Troy?
The Troy Police Department will hold a Citizens Police Academy, a seven-week session that will give residents of the community a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement.
The first session will meet on Feb. 5, and will run over the next six consecutive Tuesdays from 6:30-10 p.m. The program will conclude on March 19.

During the academy, residents will learn firsthand how police officers perform their duties and work together to serve the community and make it a safe place. The program will be conducted in a classroom-like setting with chances for real hands-on experience including riding along in an official police car and answering a call from the dispatch center.
Presentations will take place at the Troy Police Department Emergency Operations Center, the Troy Fire & Police Training Center as well as Troy Fire Station No. 3.
