Troy Schools' Destination Diploma Offers Open Enrollment
Niles Community High School and district's CLICK computer-based learning program offer tuition-free enrollment to nontraditional students from surrounding districts.

Open enrollment has started for Troy School District’s Destination Diploma program, which offers nontraditional approaches to learning to students working to earn a high school diploma.
Destination Diploma offers two programs: , a full-time, North Central Association-accredited school; and CLICK, a part-time, flexible, computer-based learning program. The programs provide tuition-free options that are open to students from all surrounding area school districts.
Students must be 16-19 years old, behind in credit and demonstrate a ninth grade reading level through the Iowa Reading Test to enroll at Niles Community High School. More than half of the students enrolled live outside of the .

“Students that attend Niles Community High School and participate in CLICK see great success from their journey,” said Debra MacDonald, administrator at Niles. “Many teens come to us from challenged backgrounds, or have had a history of problems succeeding in school. Our staff takes the time to understand each student’s unique needs and cater their teaching to help students earn their high school diploma.”
Niles Community High School and CLICK are designed for students who benefit from a nontraditional education setting. More than 80 percent of Niles graduates seek post-secondary education, the district said. About $50,000 in college scholarships are awarded annually to graduating students.

CLICK focuses on basic math, reading and writing skills, as well as critical real-life skills, such as personal management and career options.
More than 1,300 students have graduated from Niles with a Troy School District diploma since the school's founding in 1994.
