Troy Schools Well-Represented on Girls State Golf Finals
Both Troy and Athens have golfers qualified for next weekend's finals in South Lyon; Troy High team also qualifies.

Students from both Troy area high schools qualified for the Division 1 state finals and Troy qualified as a team on Thursday in the Division 1 regional at the Tanglewood Golf Course at South Lyon.
It finished in second place behind Grosse Pointe South with a team score of 337.
Senior Kelly Feng led the way for the Colts with 8-over-par 80. Her score was tied for third best among all golfers at the regional. Teammate Christine Dolikian shot an 83 and Daphne Change shot an 84; both scores were also in the top 15.

didn’t qualify as a team, but it was able to pick up one individual qualifier. The top three individual scores from players on schools that didn’t qualify as a team also get to go to the state finals.
Jennifer Yang from Troy Athens shot an 83, and that was the third best individual score. The sophomore will play at The Meadows Golf Course at Grand Valley State University on Friday and Saturday.

Division 2: Seaholm Grabs Top Spot
In the Division 2 regional at the Heather Highlands golf course in Holly, Seaholm grabbed the top score to move on to the state finals at on Oakland University.
Senior Essence Biggs had the top score on the day with a 7-over-par 79. She had the top score at the Division 2 state finals last season and she’ll have a chance to defend her individual title this year.
Three other Maples had top 10 scores at the regionals on Thursday as well. Rachel Wilson shot an 83 good (fifth place), Megan Lam shot an 86 (sixth place) and Riley Miller shot an 88 (ninth place).
finished seven strokes back of and in second place. It had a trio of seniors score under 10-over par, but the next best score was over 100. Macy Hudson, Kelly Lunghamer and Ellen Manson all played in the state finals last year and helped the Mustangs finish in fifth.
Jessica Turner from Groves was the top individual score. Her 14-over par 86 tied for sixth place overall and she’ll get to play at the state finals for the first time.
Division 3: Country Day, Cranbrook Qualify
Detroit Country Day and will be back in the Division 3 state finals. Both schools qualified at the regional played on the Orchard Lake Country Club in Beverly Hills. The teams finished in second and third place respectively.
The Yellowjackets shot a 352 as a team led by Ellie Miller and Meghan Gatwad. Both girls shot a 14-over par 84.
Cranbrook-Kingswood finished in third place with a 364. Sophomore Greer Clausen shot the best round at the regional with an 8-over par 80. Freshman Cordelia Chan wasn’t far behind with her 85.
The Division 3 state finals will be at Forest Akers West on the campus of Michigan State this weekend.
