Troy Serial Bank Suspect Hit Same Location 3 Times: Police

Arrest could clear four bank robberies in Troy and others in nearby communities, police say.

TROY, MI — Police in Troy say they have arrested a man responsible for at least four bank robberies, including three at the same location. Gary Peter Goff, 45, of Wayne, was arrested Monday after police said he robbed a TCF Bank at 2484 Coolidge Highway.

Goff was arraigned on four counts of bank robbery before 52-4 District Court Magistrate Clement J. Waldman, who ordered him held without bond. In addition to the Monday robbery, Goff is charged in robberies at the bank on April 16, 2015, and Oct 26, 2015, as well as a Sept. 10, 2015, robbery at a TCF bank at 2138 Big Beaver Road in Troy.

Police said Goff investigators are looking at Goff as a suspect in bank robberies in other communities as well.

Troy police said they were assisted by investigators from the Clawson police Department and the Troy Investigations Unit, which is made up of officers from from police departments in Auburn Hills, Birmingham, Bloomfield Township and Royal Oak, as well as the FBI Oakland County Gangs and Violent Crimes Task Force.
