Troy Students Hold CPR Clinics

If the person sitting next to you right now was choking or suffered a cardiac arrest, would you know what to do? Calling 9-1-1 is a good start, but what happens before help arrives will impact whether that person lives or dies.

Recent Michigan Connections Academy grad Tessa Lucas and her brother, current student Wyatt are providing a very important community service this summer, partnering with local businesses to host Heartsaver AED CPR certification training sessions at the Medright office, at 850 Stephenson Hwy., and have engaged the following local businesses to contribute to this effort: Troy Rotary, Medright, Inc., MacLeish Building, Twin Pines Landscaping, Troy Fire Stations 2 & 3, Health Markets, Troy Community Foundation, Seitz and Sirens, Tim Hortons, The Choice Group, Alliance Mobile Health and Realtor Deborah Louzecky.

The classes are open to anyone over the age of 12, and will be held from 9 am – 1 pm on the following Saturdays: June 29, July 13 & 27, and August 10 & 24. Because of the generous sponsorships, participants pay only $10 for this certification, and will receive their AED CPR card through the American Heart Association, a free t-shirt and a face shield key chain on the day of the class.
