Troy Students, Parents Will Find Changes When School Starts

Troy elementary and middle school students will have 12 early-release days while high school students will have 13.

TROY, MI — Children across Michigan will head back to school on Tuesday, including Troy, where students and parents will find a few changes in the district. At Larson Middle School, for example, David Recker has taken over as assistant principal. He previously worked as as a teacher at Troy High School, according to a Royal Oak Tribune report.

“Schedules: The district is replacing its late-start professional development days with 12 early-release days at the elementary and middle school level and 13 at the high school level. The days allow teachers and other staff to collaborate, leaving them better equipped to meet students’ needs.”
“The Community Education Department has arranged for Kids Klub and Tween Time after school care to be available for families who are unable to pick up their children at dismissal time. For more information on early-release dates, visit the district’s website, www.wbsd.org or call the Community Education Department, 248-865-6468.”
