Troy Worker Dies After Wood Chipper Falls On Him: Police

TROY, MI — A man died Friday morning after a wood chipper fell on him in Troy, police said.

The 45-year-old worker was operating the wood chipper with another man Thursday morning in the area of West Maple and Coolidge roads in Troy, police said.

The men were changing the wood chipper's wheels with the machine turned off, when it fell off the jack, pinning the 45-year-old man underneath it, police said.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died Friday morning, police said.
