Walsh College Names Jenny Tatsak, Ph.D., as Chair, Business Communications and Director of Executive Success Center

Dr. Tatsak will oversee initiatives designed to improve professional and personal success for Walsh College students.

Walsh College has named Jenny Tatsak, Ph.D., as Chair, Business Communications, according to Michael A. Rinkus, DBA, interim executive vice president and chief academic officer.

In addition to her current role as Professor of Business Communications teaching undergraduate and graduate classes, Dr. Tatsak will now oversee the Business Communications Department and lead the Executive Success Center, including tutoring services, faculty workshops, and curriculum-driven programing, as well as professional development initiatives.

“Dr. Tatsak’s expertise in communication strategy supports the College’s expanded focus on developing the executive communication skills of our students,” said Dr. Rinkus. “This focus extends to the Executive Success Center, where she will oversee initiatives designed to develop the skills necessary for professional and personal success of our students.”

Dr. Tatsak has extensive leadership communication experience as a senior strategist and primary spokesperson for municipal, statewide, regional, and national campaigns. She developed and enacted crisis communication and image restoration plans and served as a speech writer and media coach for on-camera interviews and debate preparation.

Dr. Tatsak earned a doctorate in communication, completed under the Edward Wise Dissertation Fellowship, from Wayne State University. She holds degrees from Eastern Michigan University, including a master’s in communication, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication, with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.

Founded in 1922, Walsh College is an all-business, private, independent, not-for-profit, fully accredited college. It offers 15 undergraduate and graduate business and information technology degrees, as well as certificate programs.
