Woman Dies In Forklift Crash At Sterling Heights Factory: Reports

A woman was killed Monday morning when a forklift fell​​​​​ on her inside a Sterling Heights factory, multiple reports said.

STERLING HEIGHTS, MI — A woman was killed Monday morning when a forklift fell on her inside a Sterling Heights factory, multiple reports said.

Police said the 25-year-old New Haven woman was driving the forklift inside the Metalsa factory at 40117 Mitchell Dr. when the machine flipped onto its side and fell on top of her, reports said.

The impact from the forklift killed the woman almost immediately, reports said.

The crash happened around midnight and production was stopped at the plant for several hours afterward, reports said.

The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration has launched an investigation, according to the Detroit Free Press.
