Woman Accused of Intentionally Hitting Motorcyclist with Vehicle

Two witnesses describe road rage incident.

(Originally posted on Oct. 13, 2016) TROY, MI — A 57-year-old Auburn Hills woman was arrested by Troy police and charged with felonious assault with a dangerous weapon after a road rage incident Oct. 6. A man who had been driving a motorcycle on Crooks Road north of Wilshire Drive told police he slowed down to let the driver, who had been tailgating, get around him; he says she changed lanes and she passed, he began to scream at her.

He states she then swerved into his lane, intentionally striking his vehicle. He momentarily lost control of his motorcycle but was able to gain control of it. He told police the woman got stopped at a red light and he was able to pull in front of her, preventing her from leaving the area. Police questioned the woman, who admitted to tailgating. She stated she did not see the motorcycle as she changed lanes; she also admitted showing the victim her middle finger but denies striking his motorcycle. Two other drivers witnessed the incident and both state there was no vehicles in front of the suspect for her to need to change lanes and they observed her intentionally strike the victim with her car. In addition to the assault charge, she was also charged with driving while license suspended.
