Woman Steals Pills From Troy Pharmacy Where She Worked: Police

The woman was arrested in connection with the theft and was placed in the Troy Jail as charges were pending.

TROY, MI — A 34-year-old woman was accused of stealing pills at a pharmacy where she worked, according to police.

A pharmacist at Health Hero Pharmacy told officers staff counted the drugs in the store's inventory at 8 a.m. on March 7, and found a bottle containing 100 tablets of generic Percocet was missing, according to police.

The pharmacy is located at 4600 Investment Drive near Crooks and Long Lake roads, according to police.

Surveillance video from inside the store showed a new pharmacy employee opening a drawer she was not supposed to be able to access, according to police.

The video also showed the woman took a small white bottle and put it in her pocket, according to police.

The employee, a Sterling Heights woman, admitted to officers that she took the pills home and took some of them, according to police.
