• Laker boys, Harbor Beach girls win Crawford Kennedy invitational (michigansthumb.com) — Ubly cross-country runners turned in strong performances at the Crawford Kennedy Invitational, with the boys placing fifth and the girls taking an impressive second overall. Individual standouts included Weston Guza's third-place finish and Myah Peruski's top-10 run, helping showcase Ubly's depth against familiar conference rivals.
• Hunting law change expands firearm options for 2026 (michigansthumb.com) — New statewide hunting rules now allow more rifle calibers across Michigan, and Ubly students are learning how to handle them safely through a partnership between Ubly School District and the Ubly Fox Hunter's Club. Local instructor Kevin Brown says the changes give smaller, younger hunters more manageable options while stressing practice, ethics, and caution to prevent accidents.
