WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — A semi truck crashed into a lake in West Bloomfield Township on Monday afternoon, according to officials.
The incident happened at 6:24 p.m. Monday in the 3600 block of Orchard Lake Road along Pine Lake, according to officials.
Officials said the 42-year-old man, who was the truck's driver and sole occupant, lost control after the rear tires began sliding on dirt while navigating a curve.
The truck then left the roadway and flipped on its side in Pine Lake, according to officials.
A video posted to social media showed part of the truck submerged in the water.
Firefighters safely recovered the man, who suffered a minor leg contusion and did not require hospitalization, according to officials.
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash.
Officials said a small amount of fuel spilled into the lake, prompting an extensive cleanup operation. It was unclear whether the spill affected water quality.
Officials are still investigating the incident.
