New Greek Restaurant Opening In Oakland County Next Week

WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI — A new upscale Greek restaurant is expected to open in West Bloomfield next Wednesday, Oct. 6.

AP Tommy's will be located along Orchard Lake Road, just north of 14 Mile Road in West Bloomfield.

Owner Andy Stylianou named the restaurant after his late mentor and father-in-law Tommy Peristeris, who was a longtime Detroit-area restaurateur.

Peristeris immigrated to the U.S. from Greece in 1971. He went on to help build Detroit's historic Greektown with the Old Parthenon and New Parthenon restaurants.

He also owned and operated Little Daddy's and the iconic Big Daddy's, which was on Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield.

The restaurants were known for authentic Greek cuisine and genuine hospitality.

Stylianou says guests can expect the same at AP Tommy's, which will also serve Greek cuisine, steaks, seafood, wine and cocktails.

The new restaurant will serve signature favorites, such as the Tommy's Chopped Salad, the family's famous spinach pie and its famous lamb chops.

"West Bloomfield has always been part of our family's story," Stylianou said. "Coming back to Orchard Lake Road is incredibly meaningful because it gives us the opportunity to honor Tommy's legacy while creating something new for the future."

Stylianou is married to Peristeris' daughter, Eleni Stylianou. Together they also run Big Tommy's Parthenon in Novi.

"The relationships we built here have lasted for generations, and so many of those guests continued supporting us at Big Tommy's in Novi," Stylianou said. "We can't wait to welcome old friends back and introduce AP Tommy's to a new generation."
