Assisted Living, Memory Care Facility Planned for West Bloomfield
The $25 million development project would be built on the former Ealy Elementary School site.

A West Bloomfield elementary school closed for two years could become the new home for an assisted living and memory care facility.
The West Bloomfield School District last week approved the sale of the former Ealy Elementary School on West Maple Road to St. Louis-based Provision Living for $1.95 million.
Provision Living’s proposed $25 million development project must now go before the West Bloomfield Township planning commission for approval, The Detroit News reports. The 17,000-square-foot project would offer 130 assisted living and memory care apartments of various sizes, and include amenities such as a beauty salon, exercise room, therapy space, and a movie theater.

“This project presents a great opportunity for the Township to work with a highly-reputable company with a proven track record for developing quality senior housing communities,” Gerald Hill, superintendent of the West Bloomfield School District, said in a statement.
“The proposed community not only would help the school district maximize the value of excess property that is no longer needed, but it will also provide the township with a valuable long-term asset to serve its senior residents and add to its tax base,” he said.

Construction could begin yet this year. When completed, the center will employ about 70 people in healthcare, administration, management, kitchen and maintenance staff.
