Two men allegedly stole a cellphone from a man with cerebral palsy, then used it to record assault they posted on the victim's Facebook page

Nikey Dashone Walker, left, and Shadeed Dontae Bey are charged with felony assault in connection with an attack on a man with cerebral palsy Sunday.
Two men Oakland County Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard labeled “cowards” face felony assault charges after they allegedly stole a cellphone from a Pontiac man with cerebral palsy, used the phone to record themselves beating him and then posted the video on the victim’s Facebook page.
“Preying on those in our community who suffer from disabilities will not be tolerated and, furthermore, to have the audacity to post their actions on the victim’s page is beyond belief,” Bouchard said in a statement.

Deputies responded to a 911 call to Phoenix Place Apartments at 8:30 a.m. Sunday notifying them that an injured man was lying in front of the apartment.
The victim told police that the two men, later identified as Walker and Bey, robbed him of his cellphone inside his apartment, and he followed them to the stairwell of the building, where he was beaten.
Walker and Bey recorded the assault with the victim’s cellphone, then posted the video the victim’s Facebook page, as well as their own, authorities allege.
Walker and Bey were arrested Monday and charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
The two were arraigned Tuesday before Judge Preston G. Thomas in 50th District Court and are being held in the Oakland County Jail on $25,000 bond.
Their next court date is Dec. 8 before Judge Michael C. Martinez.
The sheriff’s office said both men have prior criminal histories. Bey has prior convictions in North Carolina on felony larceny, trespassing, possession of stolen goods, possession of a controlled substance and resisting police. Bey was convicted in Michigan on car theft charges.
