Pine Lake Cemetery Memorial Day Service Honors and Uplifts
Perspectives of a World War II veteran and POW are shared by his son.
During the 35th Annual Pine Lake Cemetery Memorial Day Service, community leaders, clergy, police, members of churches and synagogues, and others honor those who have given of themselves in the fullest sense, even of their lives, for the higher good that our nation strives to represent. Prayers, music, and special presentations, including a keynote address, will focus hearts and uplift spirits. The Rev. Dr. Charles Packer will share insights from his father, Col. (Ret.) Allan R. Packer, who was a veteran and prisoner of war in World War II and currently lives in Iowa. Through his father's writings and the reading of scriptures and a poem, attendees will be raised up "On Eagles' Wings," which is the theme of this year's program. There is no charge and all are welcome to attend. The Pine Lake Cemetery is located at 4453 Middlebelt Road, in West Bloomfield.
