1-Year-Old, Grandma Attacked By Family Dogs In Oakland County: Police

The 1-year-old girl was in critical condition after she was bitten on her face, forehead, lower back and leg by two pit bulls, police said.

WIXOM, MI β€” A 1-year-old girl and her grandmother were injured Wednesday night after two family pit bulls attacked them inside their Oakland County home, according to police.

Police said the attack happened at 9:01 p.m. Wednesday inside a home in the area of Nissen Court and West Maple Road in Wixom.

The 1-year-old girl was bitten on her face, forehead, lower back and leg and was first taken to Ascension Providence Hospital in Novi where she was treated for severe cuts, according to police.

The girl was then transferred to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan where she was listed in critical condition, according to police.

The grandmother was treated for injuries at the home and refused to go to the hospital, according to police.

Oakland County Animal Control officials were working with the Wixom Police Department on the investigation.
