2 Hurt In 3-Car Wrong Way Crash On M-59 In Oakland County: Police

Police do not know if drugs or alcohol​ played a role in the crash.

WATERFORD, MI — Two people were injured in a Saturday morning wrong-way crash involving three cars in Oakland County, according to police.

Police said a 2013 Honda Civic was moving west in the eastbound lanes on Michigan 59 near Alma Street in Waterford at 5 a.m. when it smashed into a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe.

The impact of the crash then forced the Hyundai to hit a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup truck, according to police.

The Honda driver, a 31-year-old man, and the Hyundai driver, a 48-year-old man, were taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital with injuries sustained from the crash, according to police.

The Honda driver was then moved to Detroit Receiving Hospital, according to police.

Police did not release their conditions.

The pickup truck driver was not injured in the crash, according to police.
