The Friends of Highland Recreation Area are proud to announce the 2014 βRedbud Revealβ, a season-opening event at Highland State Recreation Area in Highland/White Lake, Michigan. To celebrate the arrival of the 2014 spring and summer season, the Reveal will be held from 12 noon until 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 26 (rain date Sunday, April 27) at the Haven Hill Gate House at the entrance to Highland State Recreation Area.
Visitors are encouraged to come and see the beautiful and historic Haven Hill section of the Highland State Recreation Area which includes the historic Haven Hill Gate House, the Edsel Ford Barn, the picturesque Carriage House, and the Haven Hill Lodge footprint up on Haven Hill.
A 2014 Artist in Residence Program Kick-Off will feature a local artist displaying his works and painting, and a βNature of Haven Hillβ Photography Exhibit will also be on display throughout the day.
At 1:00 pm, FOHRA President Mr. Dick Russell will give a public address on the Gate House lawn highlighting the Friends groupβs recent activities and event plans for the coming year. Light refreshments will be served on the lawn around Edsel and Eleanor Fordsβ wonderful estate entrance.
