1. Ladies Day Out

2. Milford Farmers’ Market

When: Thursdays starting May 7 from 3 - 7 p.m.

Where: The Warehouse at River’s Edge Brewing Co., 125 S. Main St., Milford

Nothing is better than fresh locally grown fruit and vegetables. Grab your tote bag and get ready to bring home a bounty. Make the short drive to Milford and you will find a variety of Michigan produced goods, from honey to salsa, pasta to jams.

3. Downtown Highland Founders’ Day Festival and Parade

When: May 16, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Where: Downtown Highland

Everyone loves a parade and this one will celebrate community. The parade will kick off from Highland Nazarene Church, heading down Livingston Road to John Street. After the parade there will be festivities for all ages including a petting zoo, a kids’ zone, face painting and more. Food trucks will be on site along with local artisans.

4. Red, White & Blues Festival & Fireworks

When: June 27, 5 - 11 p.m.

Where: Downtown Highland

Celebrate Independence Day a few days early at this festival packed with family fun. Find food trucks selling tasty bites, an arts & crafts fair, kid-friendly activities, a bounce house and, of course, fireworks after sunset.

5. Creature Feature

When: April 18, 2 - 3 p.m.

Where: White Lake Township Library, 11005 Elizabeth Lake Road, White Lake

Enjoy an afternoon out with the kiddos and visit with unusual, wild and maybe weird animals at this event. Wildlife educator Dan Briere will bring the animals for this special show and tell type event. Registration is required but the event is free.

6. Movement Festival

When: May 23 - 25

Where: Hart Plaza, Detroit

Looking for a fun getaway over Memorial Day weekend, this festival, happening in Detroit offers an energetic vibe. Techno was born in Detroit and this festival will be an immersive dive into the musical genre. There will be six different stages with their own distinct personality. All ages are welcome to attend.
