Four Huron Valley boys just became new boy scouts having participated in cub scouts for the last several years in pack 315 with den leader, Brien Worrell, and cub master, Eric Brakke.Β They are Will Allen, Eric Brakke, Jarrett Worrell, and CJ Hartley.
The four boys were recently honored at an outdoor ceremony in Kensington Park with retiring den leader Brien Worrell and designates from Boy Scout Troop 272 with a special fire side ceremony for their achievement to Arrow of Light Order, and again on Friday night to acknowledge their cub scout to boy scout "cross over."Β Friday's event was held at Oak Valley Middle School in Milford MI and honored all of pack 315 cub scouts for their advancement in rank with badges and ceremony.Β
Mothers of all the cub scout boys received special pins and appreciation; and these four Weblo II boys also thanked and definitely benefited from the support of their very active fathers who volunteered, drove them to experiential meetings, helped them with projects, and encouraged all four to stay with scouting even as other extracurricular activies pulled them in a number of interesting directions.
Jarrett Worrell's dad, Brien Worrell, was their den leader and Eric Brakke's dad, also named Eric Brakke, was their pack 315 cub master during their scouting particiption.Β Both men are busy self-employed professionals locally.

The boys state they are looking forward to camping out more in the next year. Continued learning, volunteering and eventually reaching Eagle scout" are the boys' next set of goals associated with their scout participation.
With their individual initiative and drive, determination of their adult supporters, and the camaraderie and team spirit found with cub and now boy scout participation, it is pretty certain they will succeed with these new goals.
It was refreshing to see this group of fathers taking such an active role in mentoring their boys, despite the tough economic times with all having to put more hours in at work to support their families!Β Hardly ever emphasized in news, television shows or even the movies, this positive role modeling trend seems to be quietly happens around our Huron Valley community and is truly something to be thankful and proud of, as well as encouraged by this generation of men's ability to balance work-home lives.
Congratulations den 4 cub scouts of pack 315: Will Allen, Eric Brakke, CJ Hartley, and Jarrett Worrell for your hard work and accomplishments. The Huron Valley community is proud of you and will await your next steps!
