Highland Companies Featured at Michigan International Women’s Show

Baubles & Bags and Thirty-One Gifts of Highland are featured exhibitors at the Michigan International Women’s Show, May 2 - May 5, Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.

“As we enter our eighteenth year, we are pleased to continue the tradition of attracting the best and brightest local businesses to our show,” said Beth Anderson, executive show manager of Southern Shows. “It’s a great way to enjoy shopping, cooking, fashion shows, makeovers and more with your mom, sister or girlfriend.”

Sean Lowe from ABC’s romance reality series “The Bachelor” will tell how he found his soul mate and about his upcoming wedding and share his experiences from ABC’s dance competition series “Dancing With The Stars.” (Thursday)

Jessica Robertson from A&E’s reality television series “Duck Dynasty,” will answer questions about being married to the youngest Robertson son, Jep and her four children, Lily, Merritt, Priscilla, and River. (Saturday)

Season 8 Food Network Star finalist, cake artist and chef Linkie Marais will relate during her cooking demonstrations her passion for food, reality show involvement and provide show goers tastes of her creations.

Warren Caterson, author of “Table for Two—The Cookbook for Couples” will reveal time-saving kitchen tips and helpful cooking hints as he uses fresh and readily available ingredients for dinner in under an hour with a minimum of leftovers.

Women can balance it all at the “Balance Your Life” pavilion exhibits and Balance Your Life Stage educational workshops with features on health, fashion, beauty, travel business and all aspects of a woman’s life and meet Kristy Villa, host of “The Balancing Act” on Lifetime Television.

Chef instructors, organizations and southern cooking radio host Chef Lisa Lofton Shively will prepare recipes and provide cooking tips in the Stonebridge Kitchen & Bath Cooking Theater.

Spring makeup trends and helpful cosmetic tips will be part of the makeovers offered by Macy’s beauty experts along with an array of new spring scents.

Show attendees will receive a gift card courtesy of Chevrolet after a vehicle test drive and see Chevrolet’s latest cars for the best one designed for their specific lifestyle.

SavingsAngel.com coupon clinics will teach how to cut a grocery bill in half using their database and technology resulting in more deals, greater savings and better flexibility.

Author, relationship therapist and professor Terri Orbuch, The Love Doctor, will share her insight and provide advice, as featured in “The Wall Street Journal” and Cosmopolitan and on ABC’s “Katie” and Fox TV-Detroit.

Novi Fire Department’s charity fashion show will heat up the runway Friday and Saturday with firefighters modeling their dress blues and bunker gear.

Other features include Scavenger Hunt with gifts hidden throughout the show each day; special gifts to the first 100 show attendees each day; Friday’s Girls Night Out with free gifts and discounts for attendees entering after 5 p.m.; Sunday’s Mother & Daughters Day with gifts and prizes; and more than 400 exhibitors displaying cosmetics, fragrances, lingerie, purses, shoes, gifts, décor items, food, arts and crafts, fashion and accessories.

The 18th annual Michigan International Women’s Show is presented by The Detroit News and sponsored by Kroger, Chevrolet, The Balancing Act, Farmers Insurance and United Dairy Industry of Michigan. Suburban Collection Showplace is located at 46100 Grand River Avenue between Novi and Beck Road in Novi. Show hours are 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday.
