Michigan State Senator Mike Kowall to Be Recognized with Excellence in Education Award at 12th Annual AT&T/MACUL Student Technology Showcase

Michigan State Senator Mike Kowall (R-White Lake), serving the 15th District, will receive the Excellence in Education Award at the 12th annual AT&T/MACUL Student Technology Showcase on Wednesday, November 28, at the State Capitol Building in Lansing.
The award, which is given to legislators who have proven their dedication to improving the Michigan educational system, will be presented by AT&T and the Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL) during the event’s opening ceremony at 9:15 a.m.
“Senator Kowall has played a major role in supporting education-related technology,” said Ric Wiltse, MACUL executive director. “His efforts have contributed to our students being better prepared for the tomorrow’s workforce.”

Serving his first term, Senator Kowall is chair of the Senate Economic Development Committee, is vice chair of its Transportation Committee, and serves as a member of three other Senate committees. He was a member of the House of Representatives from 1998 to 2002. Prior to joining the legislature, he was president of a family-owned woodworking business in White Lake. He is active in more than a dozen professional and philanthropic organizations.
The AT&T/MACUL Student Technology Showcase will feature technology displays by nearly 35 schools statewide during three separate sessions: from 9:30 to 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Exhibits will be set up in the halls of the Capitol so that students can provide legislators with hands-on demonstrations to show how technology is being used in the classroom to enhance learning.
