GREENHOUSE HOSTS THIRD FUNDRAISER
FOR FAITH IN ACTION


 



White Lake,
MI 
(February 12, 2014) – The Bogie Lake
Greenhouse in White Lake is hosting the third Wild Winter Strolling Appetizer
Benefit to help Faith in Action of Oakland County provide service that matches
trained volunteers with seniors in their communities who need help staying in
their homes.  The new 501(c)3 non-profit
organization is seeking volunteers from all faith groups. Free services being
provided to seniors include transportation, friendly visits, caregiver respite,
errands and chores.

The
fundraiser will be held on Friday, March 21 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the
Greenhouse,1525 Bogie Lake Road,
White Lake, MI.  Live
entertainment, strolling appetizers from local restaurants, a silent auction
and a “favorite chef” competition will provide a whole evening of fun for one
low donation.  The Men of Grace, the
Lakeland High School Jazz Band, the Nagy Harp & Flute Duo, and the Groove
Therapy Band will keep your toes tapping as you stroll around vendor exhibits
in the beautiful greenhouse.  The silent
auction featuring many donations from area businesses begins at 6 p.m. and ends
at 8:30 p.m. 



 



Admission
is $30 per person, with discounted tickets at $250 for a group of 10.  Children under 10 are free with an

County. This is a family event.



 



Faith in
Action of Oakland County is a partnership of faith groups, service agencies,
businesses and volunteers dedicated to helping seniors stay in their
homes.  It is part of the Faith in Action
nation-wide network of volunteer care-giving groups.  Faith in Action is funded by local faith
groups, grants, fundraisers, corporate gifts and individual donations.



 



“As we all
age, it is becoming critical to provide more help to seniors who prefer to stay
in their homes”, said Louise Bugg, a member of Sylvan Lake
Lutheran Church
and member of the Faith in Action Board.  “There is much need right here in Oakland County. 
Volunteering with Faith in Action is a good way to build new
friendships, enrich your life and live out your faith by helping others.”
