Among Fordham’s many accomplishments at DMC, Crain’s recognized her for her idea to use fourth grade children’s ideas to help design patient rooms in the new 3,800-square-foot pediatric unit at DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital.

β€œWe asked them to design a room that made them feel sale, comfortable and nonthreatening; and took their ideas into the design of the unit,” said Fordham. β€œWe went to the schools and asked for their help because the kids in our communities are the patients and they would know best what they would want to see should they have to make a trip to the hospital.”
