Thursday, July 28 marks the official opening of Detroit Bike Week to the public.
Setup of The Wall, the American Veterans Traveling Tribute/Cost of Freedom Exhibit honoring all veterans as well as other facilities taking place from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Multi-Lakes Conservation Association in Commerce Township.
The exhibit already will have been escorted by various bikers and groups of bikers to the site on Wednesday.

The Wall, the American Veterans Traveling Tribute/Cost of Freedom Exhibit, which includes a replica of the Vietnam Wall in Washington, D.C., opens to the public from 6-10 p.m. This is the only scheduled visit of the exhibit to Michigan.

Between 6 and 9 p.m., an invocation, posting of colors, the National Anthem, a speaker, music and a benediction all take place, followed by Taps and the retrieval of the colors beginning at 9 p.m.
Cost is $15 for the whole weekend, which benefits a number of charities, or $10 per day per person, payable through PayPal or a major credit card. A $1 surcharge and/or a 3 percent credit card fee will apply. Get your tickets here. (You must print out and present your confirmation email to get your ticket wristband at the gate.)
