FAMILY MINI GOLF AT THE LIBRARY

White Lake Township Library hosts its third annual Mini Golf at the Library fundraiser this weekend.

The family-friendly outing takes place largely within the library, 7527 E. Highland Rd. in White Lake, this Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., said Larry Ostrowski, White Lake Township Library director. (The Motor City Party bus will be on hand; one hole will be contained within the bus.)

In addition, middle school and high school teens have their own additional times: middle schoolers tee off Saturday after 6 p.m.; high school students take their swings after 4 p.m. Sunday.

Preregistration is not required for the event, which drew more than 200 people last year, allowing the library to purchase two computers with early learning software.  “It was pretty much all families and kids," Ostrowski said.

While the library's special collections will be this year's primary beneficiary of any funds raised, he added that it's possible some of the money could benefit collections in area community centers.

The event also features a silent auction as well as cookies and snacks.

Cost is $5 for adults and teens and $2 for children ages 12 and younger.
