Presented by White Lake Township, Auburn Hills, Pontiac and Waterford Township, holiday festivities abound on Sat., Dec. 1 in Pontiac at the annual Holiday Extravaganza Parade & Children’s WinterART Festival. Celebrating more than 30 years of cheer, the event opens at 8:30 am at the Children’s WinterART Center, 30 N. Saginaw, where kids can make holiday crafts alongside the Palace Patrol from the Palace of Auburn Hills. Also from 8:30-10:30 am is the Petting Farm on Saginaw & Huron Streets, starring Santa’s reindeer, as well as horse-drawn wagon rides, face painting, the art action experience, hot cocoa and more! The Parade begins at 11 am at the corner of Baldwin and Caesar Chavez, featuring floats & balloons from the Parade Company, the Palace Patrol, horses, choreographed dancers, area high school marching bands, and Santa & Mrs. Claus. All activities are free. Genisys Credit Union & Oakland County Michigan Works! are presenting sponsors of the event.
