
Local artist Barb Weisenburg wants area residents to βwelcome spring inβ by attending the Meet the Artists event from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at Huron Valley Council for the Artsβ The Art Shop, 205 W. Livingston Road in Highland.
βDrop in during this fun event in which many of The Art Shop Artists get together for a day of creating, as they demonstrate their respective art to visitors,β Weisenburg urged. Artists featured include Mary Bajcz, Jeanne DeHaan, Denise Forrest, Beverly Larsen, Richard McKee, Mary Neff, Paul Tibedeau, Barb Weisenburg,Wendy Willihnganz, and other Art Shop members. Sales made that day benefit HVCA.
She explained, βThe Art Shop is a function of volunteer HVCA member artists, and the collection is constantly changing.β Participating artists work in the TAS gallery on a regular basis and participate in one or more of HVCAβs support committees. Theyβre also required to attend meetings and openings as well as βproactively fostering a strong arts community in the Huron Valley area.β

βIn addition to supplying a venue for the members to display and sell their work,β Weisenburg added, βThe Art Shop at HVCA provides an opportunity for professional networking, and represents 20 to 24 artists at any given time. Members possess high artistic merit and are committed to the creative and administrative aspects of running a nonprofit alternative art venue.β
