Nationally, motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among children ages 3 to 14.Β Whatβs alarming is that many of these children were not wearing a seatbelt or were not restrained properly in a child safety seat.Β
βWhat weβve found is that injuries to children can be avoided if parents and caregivers are informed or reminded of some very important and easy steps to keep their children safe in the vehicle,β said Jennifer Shea, Safe Kids Huron Valley Coalition. βIn just a few minutes, our certified technicians can help parents and caregivers, ranging from those with new babies to longtime parents, get the peace of mind that comes from knowing how to properly remove and reinstall child safety and booster seats for children of all ages.β
