Grace Centers of Hope will host “Sleep Out Against Homelessness” at 8 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 18 on the property of Grace Gospel Fellowship Church located at 210 N. Perry St. in Pontiac. The event will be held in recognition of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Nov. 12 – 20, and allows individuals to experience the plight of the homeless through a series of educational and interactive activities. Sleep Out participants will take part in homeless simulation exercises, including constructing makeshift shelters and sleeping outdoors. Other activities include a candlelight and prayer vigil, live music, survivor stories, and an artist exhibit to represent the harsh reality of living on the streets.
