In the second half, and with the wind going in the same direction down the field as Lakeland was, the team pressed hard. Keeper Filipiak had a great drop kick to the center line that bounced over Central's defense, and striker Nina Foote charged the goalie and scored. With the score 1-0 the Lakeland defense and midfield kept the ball in Central's defensive half most of the second half.

Later in the half, Central had a goal kick. Off that kick Lakeland's Foote chest trapped the ball and shot it over the keeper for her second goal of the night cementing the win.
