Hartland Blasts Lakeland 12-1
Lakeland baseball ends the season with a tough loss to Hartland in district play.
The Hartland Eagles baseball team blasted Lakeland 12-1 Saturday. Jake Lowery fired a two hit gem on the road for the visitors. Sophomore Ross Heiman started the game on the mound for Lakeland. He gave up five runs in the first two innings in the district semi-final game. Josh Martin came on in relief for the Eagles in the top of the third.
Centerfielder Jack Flynn doubled off Lowery in the bottom of the fourth and scored on a wild pitch for Lakeland’s only run. Flynn drilled a fast ball into the right field gap in the top of the sixth for the Eagles. With the loss to Hartland, the Eagles wrap up the 2012 season.
